About Us

The Proserpine Whitsunday Junior Rugby League Football Club is a family friendly club catering for boys and girls from U6 – U12’s mixed age groups, U13’s – U17’s boys only competition age group and U12’s, U14’s, U16’s & U18’s girls only competition age groups.

Our club is affiliated and plays as part of Rugby League Mackay & District and hosts six home games per year at the Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex. Our club’s training days are Tuesdays and Thursdays with teams usually starting at 4 or 4.30pm, depending on the age.

In 2016 we celebrated our GOLDEN JUBILEE – 50 wonderful years of Junior Rugby League.  GO THE MIGHTY BRAHMANS!

PWJRL hosts the exciting two-day non-competitive Under 9’s carnival, Paul Bowman Challenge, which is held at the Proserpine Junior Sporting Complex on the first weekend of the September school holidays.

With over 70 teams registered each year, the carnival has a strong emphasis on participation, good sportsmanship and encouragement.

Named in honour of former Proserpine Junior Rugby League player, Paul Bowman is a legend of the game having played 203 games for the Cowboys between 1995 and 2007. “Bear” as he is affectionately known, captained the NQ Cowboys and represented Queensland on 12 occasions in the State of Origin.
